We manufacture and install joinery across various sectors and are specialists in fast-track projects where our ability to estimate, design, develop and produce products in various materials in-house sets us apart from many traditional joinery workshops. Our relationships with like-minded sub-contractors in our supply chain ensures we can reliably source any specialist works we cannot do in-house and incorporate them into our finished products thus offering a one stop shop solution.
Our interior contracting service successfully competes across a number of sectors from restaurants and cafes to multi-site retail roll outs. We provide a full turnkey service and design and build.
From the initial enquiry we liaise closely with designers and contractors assisting with budgets offering alternative materials and value engineering options where there are cost or lead time restraints. When providing a full estimate, we always price to the clients’ specification with any potential savings which we feel will not compromise on the aesthetics or quality of the design concept clearly outlined and offered below the line.
Once we are appointed as the bespoke joinery subcontractor, we work closely with the client team to keep everything on budget so there are no nasty surprises at final account.
Using the latest Autocad 2D software, our in house draftsmen will take design concepts and architectural drawings and development them in manufacturing specific details which will then be available for review. We also pride ourselves in being able to assist with design & build projects, bringing ideas and materials to the table due to our wealth of experience. 3D works + visual rendering is also a product we offer should your project require it.
Once an order is received the CAD technicians will produce workshop drawings for client approval and start the process of our project management through to handover. The drawings will utilise the technicians understanding of joinery so that they offer the best buildability and value for money in their detailing whilst staying true to the designer’s vision.
Any long lead in items are prioritised so that we can place orders as swiftly as possible and any third-party suppliers of materials that are to be incorporated into our products are consulted to ensure timescales, budgets and design requirements can be met.
In addition to drawings, samples and if required mock-ups are provided for sign off prior to commencing manufacture.
Where necessary site surveys are carried out too and all joinery is built -up in the factory to test for quality and adherence to design before being dismantled ready for delivery.
All installations are carried out by our dedicated installation teams and are overseen by a director so that in the event that an issue should arise a swift decision can be made, and a solution agreed upon with the client.
We snag all our work as we go so that our final product and the journey the client experiences with us are both exemplary.
In addition to the skilled and dedicated workforce that Empire employ we also understand the role that technology plays in the modern joinery manufacturing facility, we therefore use the latest AutoCAD software and CNC machinery to accompany our more traditional tooling, comprising of spindle moulders, panel saw, rip saw, drum sander, edge bander, plus our own 6 metre spray booth.
We keep as much of the manufacturing in-house as possible, that way we can control both the quality and the production timescales. We also undertake all solid surface works as well as the production of architectural metalwork. We are happy to make prototypes for large scale roll-outs or one off bespoke reception desks like the examples you can see throughout the site.
Sprayed lacquer from matt to high gloss continue to be finishes favoured by architects and designers.
The only way to guarantee a high-quality finish is to undertake the spraying in-house in a dedicated dust free booth.
For this reason, Empire employ experienced sprayers who not only have the skill to apply the paint evenly and to the required depth and sheen, but also come from a joinery background and fully understand the preparation processes required to ensure an excellent finish is achieved.
The final product is then wrapped and protected with care prior to delivery.
Whilst there is no doubting the requirement for time served skilled craftsmen in any bespoke joinery manufacturing facility technology can certainly assist the process on occasion.
Our Cad software allows us to talk directly to the CNC machine so that simple or complex shapes can be cut out or profiled and routed on various different materials thus saving time and money, creating exact replicas of the designers vision to the tightest of tolerances.
Many joinery items incorporate metal and our metalwork fabrication service eliminates the coordination and quality issues that joinery companies traditionally have sourcing high quality architectural metalwork.
We can offer 3D modelling to not only show what the finished product will look like but highlight the interface between the joinery and metalwork elements.
We are able to draw on expert engineering and metalwork knowledge and experience in the fabrication process and the supply chain we have built up relationships with, over the many years we have been in the industry enable us to offer a multitude of finishes in various metals with the greatest confidence and all installations are carried out by qualified and experienced fitters.
Whilst it is vital that all joinery that leaves the factory is manufactured to the highest standards and checked for quality, the finished product handed over to the client is only as good as the care and attention to detail taken by the site installation team.
For this reason, our site installations are only carried out by either directly employed joiners or teams that the directors have previously worked with and are confident in their abilities.
All site operatives have the relevant CSCS cards for their roles and are continuously trained in health and safety, asbestos awareness and regular toolbox talks are site specific.
All installations are carried out by our dedicated installation teams and are overseen by a director so that if an issue should arise a swift decision can be made, and a solution agreed upon with the client.
Empire were appointed as the joinery contractor on one of my projects following successful negotiations and met the budget costs following issue of detailed drawings and offered VE options where designs were impractical. They have proven many times that they are an honest, reliable, quality specialist contractor and are a pleasure to work with.

A big thank you for your efforts at the New Victoria Private Hospital Project. Following a very late client instruction, your ability at short notice to turn your package around helped us complete the project on time and to budget. Communication from yourselves from the offset was brilliant. Initial meetings attended swiftly, drawings produced and minor comments turned around quickly, you issued regular progress photos throughout the manufacturing process, and you were actually ready before us. Install team was also very professional.
Darren Knott - Project Manager
Throughout the duration of the project Empire performed with professionalism. Clear direct lines of communication ensured that programme dates were met and an end product of exceptional quality was delivered.
